The first filming day was fun, but it was a big learning curve. We forgot a few essential things like duct tape, and figured out that we needed a better tripod, better gimble, and an additional light. We thought we came fully prepared but you grow from your mistakes.
The footage we shot today won’t be used in the final film because they weren’t what I was looking for, they aren’t bad, but just not there yet. I also learned today on how to direct better, and understood where we messed up in our organisation, in terms of what order to film shots, I learned that you don’t have to film as the storyboard goes, you can group shots in order of location and actors to save time while filming.
After seeing the footage, me and Yehuda decided to change the room we are filming in and decided to move to a bigger one downstairs because it has a structured corridor right beside it, that would suite the film very well. (Plus the upstairs stunk really badly, so moving downstairs was a good decision).
