After reviewing and learning my lessons from filming day 1, I ended up making a Storyboard Schedule, the schedule we had already made was not structured very well, this new one communicated better:
Because there is only one line of a car shot, and it is the opening of the sequence, we decided to do that first. We travelled to my dad’s office where our car was. Yehuda brought all the equipment that we might and might not need with me, including two fresh roles of duct tape, just in case, and he asked for the car keys, opened the boot, and started to set up the lighting, tripod, camera, etc. I went into the trunk and we started filming. After the second take I remembered a more effective way of showing that she is in a car, and that would be to show headlights of other cars travel by as Autem’s car drives. So, then Yehuda scavenged through his dad’s office and found a flashlight. As the camera was rolling, I waved the flashlight above her head, back and forth like a pendulum creating the illusion that there are cars passing by, but then I remembered that roads are not super smooth, therefore while I was is in the car yehdua told me slightly bob up and down and by the fifth take we had a perfect 1:30 shot. We filmed it that long so we have a large chunk of footage to mess with, rather than stressing on stitching small pieces of footage together. By the end, I got the hang of it so the acting looked far more realistic and believable.
Overall filming day 2 was a fun perfect success and we have more than enough footage.
