The only hazardous risk we could encounter during filming, would be a wound by the sugar glass and the lights falling on someone (which did kind of happen).
Sugar Glass.
The sugar glass hazard is a serious, because someone can get seriously injured by its sharp edges, and tiny grain size.
Below is a video of me breaking the glass, so we could film our movie with it, however I quickly learned that we will not be able to use it after all.
After I broke it, I noticed that it was creating very fine, sticky, sharp grains that if uncareful with could break into someones skin if enough force is applied. The scene we have with jus myself ‘accidentally’ pressing my hands into the broken glass would be too risky to film, we both discussed it, and with a third party, and we all agreed that we can risk puncturing her hand if we try and film this shot, even if we somehow faked it will look unrealistic and potentially lower the overall quality I am aiming for, for the film. Therefore, we decided to scrap that shot and not do it in the end, as a result for continuities sake, we also decided to scrape the blood against the wall shot and the half-broken vase the flowers are draped in, rather have them placed directly on the side table/stand.
Falling Lights.
This did happen during Filming day 3 but only once and no one got hurt, however it is a risk for injury and serious damage of expensive equipment. While filming a shot of myself on the floor I wanted to capture in a new angle. However, while I was moving the tripod leg caught the cable of both lights, making one just lean on me, as I was already right next to it, and the second light fall directly on the floor (away from myself). It gave us a startle, but luckily no one got hurt and the light itself was fine, it has a new dent on its hood, but performance is as usual. The lights that I used where around 4 kg each so for that to fall from a height of around 1.9 meters onto someone can cause some damage, not serious enough for hospital, but it can cause some internal bleeding under the skin, which is never fun.
