We first got given a story board, and we were told to film, some people in our class acting it out for us. We needed to include a range or different camera angles. It was quite easy to film as we followed the sheet and all the instructions that we were given. The story board we used is underneath.
In my group, it with me, Ethan, Oscar and Tommy. I think we worked really well together, as we took turns in all of the roles. When filming we filmed loads of different shots so that we have a variety of different shots to pick through. For example, we filmed a medium shot and an over the shoulder shot so that when we were editing we were able to cut between different shot. We did this so that it was easier to show the conversation and different perspectives go it. We used different shots to present different things. For example we firstly used a tracking shot of one of the actors walking in. We did this as it makes the viewers feels like they were being protected. We also filmed low and high angles to highlight the roles of power and status so that we could make one actor seem stronger/weaker than the other.
When editing we used Adobe Premiere Pro. At first it was quite hard to use but then after using it we got the hang of it. At first it was quite hard to make the prelim flow, as there was the problem of continuity because the different shots didn't flow, but we got round it and I think it flowed quite well
One thing we used when filming was the 180 degree rule. We did this by putting stop marks where the could not cross so the actors could stick to the 180 degree. This worked and enhanced our prelim. The story board which you saw above had instructions that we followed and helped give us a guide line of what shots to follow.
I think our prelim turned out really well. However if I had a chance I would have filmed each shot more with different camera shots so that when editing we could have had the chance to have more of a choice of shots. The Prelim would have followed easier as well, but overall I think it turned out well.
