Skyfall

Skyfall gender
In the first scene of sky fall the non-diegetic use of sound in the opening scene creates tension. The first few seconds informs the audience that this film is going to carry a lot of suspense and danger. The camera follows the main actor and follow  from behind which enables us to see what he is doing. From filming from the back allows us to feel James bond the main male in the film is like the hero and that he is protecting us. The male’s in these types of films are usually presented as controlling and powerful. Bond is presented as serious however we also get to see the tender that we don't usually come across with men in action films. We can see that he notices a dead body and wants to help him. Bond is a caring person, which exaggerates his personality of being portrayed as the hero of the film. However when M finds out he wants to help the dead body, she tells him they don't have enough time and to leave portraying her heartless and cold personality.
The dark lighting in the room implies danger and seriousnesses which creates the mood of mystery

When bond leaves the apartment we can tell its leading into a new scene. The tempo of the non diegetic sound increases as he leaves therefore we think something dangerous is going to happen, the camera is tracking him from behind which makes the audience watching feel like he is our leader and that he is protecting us as he is our hero. When he enters the street the music completely changes. The non-diegetic sound turns to jungle Istanbul themed music helping the audience watching signify the change in scene.
